Residential Gas Detectors & Accessories

CCI Propane Gas Detector (LP) 120 Volt AC Powered
with 8 Hour Battery Backup Power System
Made in USA
Directly plug in this propane gas alarm with 8 hour battery backup into an unswitched AC outlet. Or plug in and extend the cord to place on a table. Or plug in and extend the cord to mount using the keyhole opening.
Note: This alarm cannot be hardwired into 120 Volt AC.
Natural gas and propane gas can explode or ignite. Install a gas alarm near every gas appliance. Natural gas normally collects above a leaking gas appliance; heavier propane sinks, normally collecting near the base of a gas leaking appliance. Carbon monoxide alarms cannot detect raw propane or natural gas. You need a detector with a combustible gas specific sensor. Be safe. Not everyone can smell ethylmercaptan, the scent added to gas. A strong ethylmercaptan odor or no odor are not indicative of safety or danger. Installing natural gas alarms or propane gas alarms is the only way to be safe if you use gas to heat or to cook.
Easy Gas Alarm Installation: Plug GasAware Propane combustible gas detector into any un-switched 120 Volt AC wall outlet.
Three Mounting Options:
Direct wall outlet
Hang on the wall.
Place on table or flat surface.
Four Indicator Lights:
Power: Green light continuously on for AC
Green flashes for battery backup operation
Alarm: Red
Fault: Yellow
Battery: Yellow light continuously flashes until batteries reach full charge (up to 10 hours). Yellow light continuously flashes if no batteries, non-rechargeable batteries are installed, or batteries need replaced.
85 Decibel Alarm: CCI Gas Alarm sounds an 85 decibel alarm when gas detected is approximately 20% of its lower flammable level. Alarm sounds about five times lower than when the gas concentration may reach a combustible level at the gas sensor.
Proven Sensor Technology: Gas Aware uses tin dioxide gas sensors which are reliable, highly sensitive, and long-lived.
Mute and Self-Test Functions: For continued safe operation, Gas Aware allows tests of both electronic circuitry and gas sensor.
Convenient 6' Power Cord: Extend cord from the AC outlet for proper placement as a propane gas alarm or natural gas alarm.
Backup Power System with Built-in Recharging Technology: If power fails, GasAware gas monitors switch to a backup power system with two AA rechargeable batteries. Backup power is up to 8 hours for propane gas and 10 hours for natural gas.
NOTE: Use ONLY Rayovac Model 715 AA Rechargeable batteries (included).
Built-in charger activates once AC power is restored.
Specifications:
Primary Power Supply: 110 Volt AC adapter supplied with 6' cord. Cannot be hard-wired into 120 Volt AC. Adapter steps down 120 Volt AC to 12 Volt AC.
Operating Temperature: 32° to 120° F
Storage Temperature: 32° to 120° F
Operating Humidity: Less than 95% non-condensing.
Sensor Level: At or below 25% Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) for Natural Gas or Propane Gas.

The CCI Controls 120 Volt CO (Carbon Monoxide) Gas Detector Alarm is for residential applications.
Carbon monoxide gas is a by-product of the incomplete burning process of any fuel, including, but not limited to, gasoline, propane, natural gas, oil, charcoal or wood. All appliances that burn fuel including cooking stoves, lamps, space heaters, furnaces, hot water heaters, and engines from RVs, RV generators, cars and trucks produce CO.
When appliances are in good working condition with proper combustion and ventilation, lethal carbon monoxide gas is vented outdoors where it quickly disperses. However, a safety hazard can occur when an appliance malfunctions and produces CO that is not fully vented.

Green Power Indicator Light: Turns on after 12 volt power is supplied. Indicates alarm is activated to detect presence of carbon monoxide gas.
Alarm Condition: CO gas present in alarm concentrations activates both a loud alarm and a flashing RED alarm indicator light. Detector sound and flashing red light continue until CO gas dissipates or until the MUTE button is momentarily pressed. If the MUTE button is pressed during an alarm condition, both the audible alarm and the Red flashing alarm light stop. If CO gas remains present in alarm concentrations, the both audible and flashing alarms resume within a few minutes depending on the concentration.
CAUTION: This alarm only indicates the presence of carbon monoxide gas at the sensor. Carbon monoxide gas may be present in other areas.
Sensor Activation Level: At 70 ppm or more of carbon monoxide gas and before 10% carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) exposure level
Operating: Green LED illuminated
Two Alarm Signals: Audible alarm sounds and Red LED flashes.
Fault Condition: Orange LED illuminates. Audible alarm sounds every 5 seconds.
Low Voltage Condition: Orange LED illuminates. Audible alarm sounds every 60 seconds.
Audio Alarm: 85dB at 10 Feet
Supply Voltage: Hardwired. 120 Volt DC nominal
Current Draw: 50 milliamps maximum
Dimensions: 6.5" x 3.875" x 1.5" deep. Screw holes: 6.25" apart. Cut out is 5.5" x 2.125" x 1" deep (for flush mount units)
Storage temperature: -40° to 100° F
Operating temperature: 40° to 100° F
Humidity: 95% Max Noncondensing

Automatic Gas Valve Operation with Gas Alarm Operation:
Mount gas detector for free flow of air into front and out the back.
Use Only Non-Switched Outlet: constant power maintains battery charge.
Use one detector per 20 x 20 foot room.
Mount alarm unit near gas appliances.
Mounting Heights: Natural Gas = 4" from the Ceiling. Propane Gas = 4" from the floor.
Self Check Circuit: Continuous Testing if Unit is Turned On.
Circuit failure signal: Short beep alarms every 45 seconds with flashing fault indicator light.
Start gas flow by switching gas detector to on position. Pinging or ticking sounds during warm up and self-check modes. After 60 seconds, green indicator lights: gas valve is open from gas source to gas appliance. Then light pilot flame. Switch to off position to turn off detector and gas flow.
